| Return-to-Work Psychology |
|
| Current Situation |
Injured workers are brought back into the workplace based solely upon their physical ability to continue to do their job. Little or no consideration given to the mental health of the employee or the impact to the psychology of the peers and organization. Musculoskeletal disorders, chronic pain, and some acute injuries result in significant psychological impact to the employee and may permanently impact their attitudes and effectiveness at work. Psychological impacts result in delayed rehabilitation, increased time off work, and difficulties re-inserting into the workplace. |
