| Return-to-Work Psychology |
|
| Magnitude of the Problem |
One quarter of all sick days in the workplace is related to
pain resulting in about $50 million in lost productivity. At any one time, it is known that 20% of all workers are suffering some kind of pain condition. It is also known that 68% of all workers suffer some pain while at work, though it is not enough to miss work. OSHA 1910.900 will require employers to respond to symptoms of pain. Peoples’ psychology affects the pain symptoms and impairs their ability to cope with the pain. |
